Die eine Regel, die alles entscheidet
Kette, Ritzel und Zahnkranz gehören gemeinsam getauscht. Eine neue Kette auf verschlissenen Zähnen ist nach wenigen Ausfahrten wieder gelängt, ein neues Ritzel in einer gelängten Kette genauso schnell rund. Wer hier einzeln tauscht, spart einmal und zahlt dreimal.
Aus der Werkstatt
Die Kettenspannung ist der meistunterschätzte Handgriff überhaupt. Zu straff kostet Lager im Getriebeausgang, zu locker frisst die Kettenführung und lässt die Kette springen. Eingestellt wird nach Herstellerangabe im belasteten Zustand, nicht nach Gefühl am aufgebockten Rad — und im Gelände nach jedem Trainingstag kontrolliert. Zweiter Punkt: erst reinigen, dann schmieren. Spray auf eine verdreckte Kette bindet den Schmutz genau dort, wo er nichts verloren hat.
